The Ajax MotionProtect Plus U Jeweller is a wireless PIR motion detector enhanced with a K-band microwave sensor for precise detection in challenging environments. Designed to identify movement from objects with temperatures close to the human body, it uses its PIR sensor for initial detection and then performs an RF scan with the microwave sensor to confirm the alarm. This dual technology greatly reduces false alarms caused by heat sources such as air conditioners, heaters, or fireplaces, making it ideal for complex indoor spaces.
The PIR sensor, sourced from Excelitas Technologies, ensures high-quality detection, while the precision Fresnel lens differentiates between humans, pets, and thermal noise. The K-band microwave sensor operates only to verify PIR alarms, delivering superior accuracy, reduced energy consumption, and minimal impact on battery life compared to traditional X-band sensors. Pet immunity is supported for animals up to 20 kg and under 50 cm in height. Three adjustable sensitivity levels allow the detector to adapt to various environments, while temperature compensation maintains performance in all conditions.
Powered by a pre-installed, quality-tested battery, MotionProtect Plus U Jeweller provides up to five years of autonomous operation. Communication with an Ajax hub or range extender is via the secure Jeweller radio protocol, offering up to 1,700 metres of range in open space with encryption, frequency hopping, and authentication to protect against jamming or spoofing. The device also features tamper protection, automatic self-diagnosis, and instant push notifications for alarms, faults, or connection losses.
Installation is quick and straightforward using the SmartBracket mounting panel and QR code pairing, with no need to open the device enclosure. All settings can be configured remotely via Ajax apps, eliminating the need for on-site visits.
